it pays to be dirty
i've noticed a lack of political comment throughout the blogs i read regularly, and as it has been a run up to an election perhaps that is funny. i tend to avoid the subject as i'm not keen on shouting about who i vote for etc, i find the whole putting posters up around the area really distasteful, i have to be honest. however i'm waking up this morning really shocked at how things have turned out, mostly with respect to the gains made by the tories. what seemed from beginning to end to be a shallow, dirty campaign, which (surely) nobody would be fooled by has worked! they've gained, at last count 30 odd seats, and round here seats that looked like libdem possibles have fallen easily to the conservatives. what's more i've just heard tony blair saying that 'the people have spoken' by choosing him for a 3rd term in government, when actually nearly a third of the voting country have spoken against him!
as usual this rant isn't going anywhere, i'm just frustrated and need to vent! i don't know what the solution is, i guess there must be one, it would just be so nice to live somewhere spin and bullshit free.
